ABOUT ME
CHRIS GRUNDY
BSc (Hons), Dip.Couns, MNCPS Acc.
My name is Chris Grundy and I'm a person-centred
counsellor based in West Yorkshire, though I provide
online and phone-based counselling across the United
Kingdom. I am an Accredited Registrant on the NCPS
Accredited Register, which has been accredited by the
Professional Standards Authority.

I grew up in Bradford and previously worked in
household insurance claims as a claims handler and
then as a fraud investigator. After a number of years,
I decided I wanted to do more to put back into society
and help people and so left the company to attend university as a mature student, gaining a BSc Hons in
Psychology before completing a Diploma in Counselling.

During my studies, I noticed the lack of male counsellors, particularly from working-class backgrounds, and dedicated mental health services aimed at men. I became determined to dedicate myself to providing such a service with the aim of ultimately building a practice which can provide much-needed support to men who are struggling with the various and specific challenges which face men in modern society.

EXPERIENCE
I have volunteered with charities such as Marie Curie and Bradford Bereavement Support, working closely with people experiencing grief, loss, and significant life changes. These experiences have shaped my approach and deepened my understanding of the emotional challenges many face in these circumstances.

In my private practice, I specialise in counselling for men, recognising that men often encounter unique pressures and may find it harder to reach out. Whether you’re facing relationship issues, anxiety, anger, or simply feeling stuck, I’m here to listen without judgement.
